An impromptu Wee Willy Winky Beanie Hat.
It’s basic shape is just a cone.
I am using part of the dimensions I worked out in Crochet Slouchy Beanie Hats to apply here. Just makes it easier for me. In the Crochet Slouchy Beanie Hats, I used 5mm crochet hook and yarn that went well with that hook size. And based on the yarn and hook size, I know I want to get 70sts at the base of the cone.
So the working is quite simple .. just gradually increase into a cone. How long the cone (i.e. how slowly you increase the stitches) will determine the length of the Wee Willy Winky Beanie Hat. I think that is all pretty self-explanatory. So I will just throw in some WIP (work in progress) photos by way of additional explanation.
Next, you just need to do the ribbed brim. Instructions for crochet ribbed brim can also be found at Crochet Slouchy Beanie Hat. The longer the brim, the more the foldover you can have. And since you can wear the hat without folding over the brim, the length of the brim will also contribute to the overall length of the Wee Willy Winkie Beanie Hat.
Gradually increase till circumference is 70sts.
