I thought I still had summer time so out popped this lacy crochet top. I wanted to create something that was summery and that could be worn casually as well as could be dressed up.
The necklace is also something I made: various beaded bezelled gemstones. Unfortunately it appears I have been amiss again and failed to blog it!
Below some photos and some short notes on the lacy crochet top. It has been (once again) too long between completion of this project and getting around to the blog. So I can’t remember specific detailed steps. But let’s give it a go.

(Sorry for the less than crispy photos. Dark rooms, dark days, poor lighting, poor photography.)
MATERIALS & SOURCES OF IDEA
I saw the two images below on Pinterest and decided to give it a go. So this lacy crochet top is a bit of an adaptation from those images.
HOOKS: 2mm, 2.5mm, 3mm – progressively larger hooks to produce the slight flare.
YARN: 100% cotton
WIP & CLOSE UPS
There is no full pattern for this. I used the pattern block and adapted from there.
It was worked downwards (from neckline) in a circular tube form. (Can’t remember the number of stitches without my notes).
Progressively increase hook size going downwards. Have to gauge by sight when to change hooks.
Shoulders are worked by picking up enough stitches along the starting row to form a suitable width. I first strung on some translucent AB beads then just crocheted them in.
The drop-off sleeves are worked separately and then sewn onto the body.
Finish off with appropriate edging where you feel appropriate.
