Daily Charm Gloves – so charming and yet so casual. This pair of beaded fingerless gloves is fitting and snug. And despite the “holes”, they do amazingly keep fingers and hands warm!
This pair of gloves has a slight stretch to it so that it is a perfect, next-to-the-skin fit when worn. Edged in sparkly black AB hex beads and highlighted with gentle iridescent glass beads, it is the perfect daily charm you can take anywhere.
Very easy to wear. Just pull on and be Warm! Left/Right sides are identical – can be worn on either hand.
Some DIY notes on Daily Charm Gloves
This pair of gloves is made of a much finer yarn than I normally use. This means much more work but also gives you more definition and definitely more delicate detail. The beads are chosen to produce a contemporary classic feel: iridescent clear glass seed beads (about size 8 or 10) and edged with sparkly black AB hex seed beads.
I bought this yarn from America many years ago and never quite knew what to do with it. However it is PERFECT for fitting fingerless gloves. It has a slight stretch so that when worn, the gloves fits … well, it fits like a glove! It hugs the hands giving it s perfect fit.
Gloves are worked in the round so that it is seamless.
For this set of gloves, you need to pre-determine how many stitches will be needed. Here I have 51 stitches for the body of the gloves, worked with Clover crochet hook, size 0.
Next, you determine where the beads will be and then you thread, from top to bottom (as the work will be done from bottom to top where bottom is towards your arm and top, towards fingers).
The hex beads are to be at the bottom (viz. the edging). Hence the last row of beads to be threaded are the black AB hex seed beads. I have threaded, not 51 but 76 (=51+25) beads to create the flare at the bottom that I want.
Start the crochet from bottom to top. All the beads you need should be threaded on the yarn by this stage.
Foundation Row: chain stitch all the (51+25 = 76) beads. Join into a round, making sure that there is no twisting.
Row 1: The rough crochet graph below shows the crochet stitch for the first row. This will decrease the number of stitches from 76 to 51 stitches.
Thereafter, work 51 stitches per round, throughout.
