zz. Bead Crochet Rope Lariat Necklace
Since I am in the mood for crochet (and always for beads), I have done me up some crochet rope necklaces or lariat necklaces.
This article covers 3 variations of bead crochet lariats and guides on how to create them.
z. Lessons from my first Crochet Booties
Having moved into our new home of wooden polished floors, I was eager to try out some crochet booties. I checked out patterns, instructions, YouTube videos for tutorials on how to make a boot. Ultimately the only way to get a grasp on the real how-to is just to make one.
So this here is my first ever bootie – a crochet bootie. It is what I call a working draft. Its main purpose is so that I can see and feel what the real thing looks like. Wear it, work it, and find out that way what needs to be adjusted – and then make a better one (later/one day!)

z.Multi-Strand Necklace, Earrings – Simple Elegance (CH0298)
Simply Elegant Multi-Strand Necklace for a Beautiful Friend
For Sooty’s birthday I wanted to create a jewelry set that was deceptively simple, classically elegant and yet flexible and accommodating of more than one style. This Multi-Strand Necklace in simple elegance with matching earrings was the final result.
This multi-strand necklace and earrings set make use of some of Swarovski’s most elegantly versatile pieces: Swarovski® 62023 Filigree connector, Swarovski clear Crystal channels, Swarovski XILION crystal beads with Fresh Water Pearls, Sterling Silver fine chains, and CZ studded Rhodium Plated Sterling Silver ear hooks. z. Beaded Crochet Bracelets: Comfy Sparkles with Swarovski
Today I am writing up some how-to notes on the making of this collection of Beaded Crochet Bracelets or bangles. They are comfy to wear, easy to put on, and have an amazing call to elegance with the full loading of the ever glorious Swarovski crystals.
I call these “flat based” beaded crochet bangles because the inner side (against the skin) is made flat, without beads – to provide a comfortable easy feel to these bangles. I have used stretchy yarn (viscose) so that it is much easier to wear.
z.Beaded Crochet Bracelet How To
This beaded crochet bracelet is very fun to make and invites an endless array of possible variations in color, yarn type, beads and crystals.
This was done in a set: beaded crochet bracelets and finger crochet necklaces. The set is designed to be colourful, modular and interchangeable. Each item can be worn singularly or in combination.
There is no need of clasps or fasteners. Not even for the crochet bangles as each has enough of a stretch to go over hands comfortably.
This modular crochet jewelry set (CH0296) includes 3 beaded (finger) crochet necklaces and 3 seamless beaded crochet bracelets.
Wire Wrap Cross – How To
Handmade Beaded Rod, Wire Wrap Cross
This is one of my favourite crosses. Was used in Rosary for Mom.
Though it looks a bit complex, it is not very hard to make at all.
RAW Beaded Cross – How To
This is not a full tutorial on how to make a beaded cross in Right Angle Weave (RAW). Rather it is an overview with brief descriptions which is meant to provide avenues of possibilities. It does have enough description to provide technique ideas and how to guide on making a beaded cross.
RAW Beaded Cross (i)
This handmade cross is done in RAW (Right Angle Weave). I have used light blue 4mm bicone crystals. Once the RAW beaded cross is done, then the seed beads are sewn in a “X” structure over the surface of the cross.
Create Strength and Rigidity
Instead of using beading thread, I have used thin wire (0.25mm gauge) to do the RAW as well as to sew the seed beads with. This gives more strength and rigidity to the overall cross. I then finished off with a simple beaded bail, using the same thin wire.
Chainmail Cross – How To
I was constantly running out of crosses once I started making my own rosaries. So I thought figure out how to make some of my own handmade crosses (in 2011). Here is a succinct how-to on making some chainmail crosses.
A. Handmade Crosses – Wire Wrapped and Chainmail Cross
I used Byzantine weave to first create the chainmail cross. I am not sure if I should still call it the Byzantine Weave as I modified it by making it a tight Byzantine weave. It then has more solidity and rigidity. (For more information, see B. ChainMail Cross below).
Pearl and Crystal Rosary
This handmade crystal rosary is made with clear Swarovski crystals and Swarovski pearls. The cross is also handmade from the same clear Swarovski crystals with a genuine Swarovski headpin. The headpin is topped with a clear Swarovski crystal, giving a shiny sparkle at the bottom of the cross.
The two photos below show a full view of the crystal rosary. This rosary has a purity that is both soothing and cleansing.
Handmade Crystal Cross
Swarovski crystal headpin is used to give strength as well as an extra sparkle to the end of the cross. I have only used closed jump rings for reliable security.
Details of Connections and Links
7mm wire is used (silver plated over brass). Close jumprings are 7mm, outer diameter with a 1.2mm gauge.
Rosary Center
I used a Swarovski metal filigree as the rosary center.
