Another new pair of baby booties in red & white just popped out at me last night. (Who needs sleep right?) Below are some clear pics of the baby booties. For those interested in making your own (booties – you know how to make babies without instructions already!), I have included some links to charts and instructions.
z. Baby Shoes Soles Crochet Chart
The following Soles Crochet Chart can be used when making crochet baby shoes or booties. I have used this chart with Clover 4/0 (2.5mm) crochet hook and suitable yarn to create soles of about 9-10cm long – which is suitable for babies between 0-6months old.
If you use different sized hook or yarn, then obviously the sizing will vary. This is but one method or pattern for creating the soles for baby shoes/booties.

I will try to give some detailed steps into the making of these crochet baby shoes. While not a full-blown tutorial, I hope it will still serve you in making your own and giving you ideas for your own dazzling creativity.

Beaded Picture Crochet Cuffs – How To
“Picture Crochet” (my term) is crocheting with beads to form specific images or pictures. Here I will go through some of the how-to and suggestions in using picture crochet to create cuff bracelets.
Crochet Cord – Finger Crochet
Finger Crochet is crocheting with your fingers; no crochet hook needed. I love the finger crochet cord because they are very versatile and has, to me, a intriguing and professional finish.

Crochet Chart image bug
Yesterday I posted about the free Crochet Chart software and pointed you to where you can get it. Since then, I have spent a number of hours playing around with it. And sadly discovered it has a bug. An image bug.
It is great that this newest version has the ability to allow you to insert an image. I do need that for graphing my crochet stitches into colours (for doing beaded crochet). However Crochet Chart has an image bug – where, once inserted, the image becomes “stuck”. You cannot select, move, edit, or even delete it! No good!
But the good news is I have found a workaround. After many hours, let me say. So if you are interested, you can find how to workaround the image bug in Crochet Chart software.
Free Crochet Charts Software
I have been searching for a good crochet chart software for a long while now. I think I have finally found one (named Crochet Chart Software) that will do much of what I need. I have yet to use it fully but I wanted to give a heads up to anyone else who might be looking for just such a needful piece of software. And the best news of all is that it is now free (open-source) – and available for both Windows and Mac users.
It is not the easiest thing to find on the net so if you are looking for a crochet charting software, I have written up “Crochet Charts Software – Where to Get?” for you convenience.
Now I better get on to learning more about how to use the software so I can actually produce the many half-formed crochet projects in my head.
How to Crochet Flat Circle (sc)
How to crochet a flat circle in single crochet (sc). I am re-writing this entire post. For the sake of clarity.
There are multiple ways of crocheting a flat piece of circular crochet. You only have to ask Google. But I find the best and easiest rule of thumb, if you are making your flat crochet with sc, is to start with 8 stitches. And increase 8 stitches every row.
• Start with 8sc.
• Increase 8 stitches per row.
DIY – Basic Construct for the Crochet Slouchy Beanie
I am going to detail a template or guide to create the shape which will turn into a long or shorter slouchy beanie. This is specifically for a crochet beanie.
This pic shows how some of these slouchy beanies could look like. For even more details on the specifics of these 3 shown beanies, please see Crochet Slouchy Beanie Hats.
I am finding that writing out detailed steps and over-fussy photos is taking up way too much time which means I cannot get on with other things I want to make, and everything just gets all clogged up with little getting published.
So I am going to do over the top simple. Nothing too fancy or time consuming. Simple drawings and whatever makes publishing easier. I have often found inspiration from the work of others even when they only provided one drawing or one photo. So I am going to trust that this will also work for you.
