To make a beaded warped square in Peyote Stitch is very easy. Especially if you know how to make a flat beaded square. In fact, a warped square is easier than a flat square!
Technically speaking, we are using a combination of Peyote Stitch and Herringbone Stitch.
The logic is: Peyote stitch for the flat surfaces; Herringbone stitch for increases.
I have lived under the illusion that there is nothing better, nothing more regular than Miyuki in seed beads. But now that I have been Toho-ized, Toho seedbeads get my big thumbs up as far as their round seed beads are concerned.
“Warped Beaded Triangle” necklace came about as a result of me playing around with a basic shape, warping it .. and letting the resultant shape speak to and surprise you. I am still playing around and getting familiar with basic geometric shapes. In “Geometric Shapes: Tools for Beading“, I yakked about how important I think learning groundwork rules are in being able to achieve flow and freedom in the long run.

I don’t know if I have mentioned this. But for the last couple of weeks, my head has been so much into geometric shapes (only very basic shapes), that I feel as if I have talked (in my head) about nothing else! I am gathering tools for beading .. and crafting … and mix media work. And right now, geometric beaded shapes and how to achieve them have taken one of the central stages. (Yes, I do have a number of central stages going at one time. Which explains the wuzzy, fuzzy, dizzy feeling in my head!)
