I have trialed a number of methods of beading circles round metal ring before. Here I am trying not for a tutorial but a compilation of methods I am trialing. There will be a direct link to each tutorial, from various artists. This way, I have a better chance of looking up how to bead circles using metal ring (or any other type of rings, be they metal or not!).
Original Tutorial: YouTube C y L Accessories, Tutorial Aretes de aros decorados con cristales y mostacillas.
Below are all the variations that resulted from playing around with the original tutorial.
A) Turquoise & Silver
I love the colours so I think I will probably be wearing this out very shortly.
Made with Swarovski 4mm bicones, Turquoise; and 8/0, 11/0, 15/0 Japanese seedbeads (Miyuki, Toho); and sterling silver findings.
B) Greens and Golds for Sis
These colour combo turned out so surprisingly warm and charming that I have decided to gift this set to my sis. It will be perfect for her sari dress ups. I hope she loves them.
Made with Swarovski 4mm bicones (Palace Green, Emerald, Bronze 2X – I am guessing at the colours as I am too lazy right now to go look them up!). 24K electroplated findings as well as seed beads. Some galvanised gold Japanese seedbeads as well.
The pendant is dome shaped. Start with the standard ladder stitch around the metal ring (8/0). The beads are just very slightly insufficient to go snugly around the ring. That means that you will have to ease the beads around and space them out around the ring. And as you bead around in further rounds, it will gladly go into a domed shaped. Which is perfect for sneaking in your cab or rivoli (Swarovski, 14mm or 16mm rivoli – Purple Velvet). Then just bead-net off the back.
C) Earrings – Rich and Sumptuous
I have made a photo tutorial on how to make these sumptuous beaded earrings round a metal ring. It will make for easier reminding on the basic how-tos re. beading circles round a metal ring.
These earrings utilise Swarovski 4mm bicones (Crystal Metallic Blue 2x) with 24K plated Japanese seedbeads.
