How to Create a Beaded Circle with Superduos and Rulla Beads
Want to make some easy beaded Superduo circles?
This simple beading creates a double layered circle/ring with Superduo and Rulla beads. It creates a firm, strong structure.
Here in this short tutorial, I will be using Superduos, Rulla beads, 11/0 seedbeads.
The point is to get the logic of the construct rather than to be tied to specific beads or quantity.
Tip: When using Superduo or Twin beads, before stringing through, always test that both holes in the bead are not blocked. These beads have rather a large percentage of having only one clear hole.
Simple Construct Logic
The beaded circle is constructed of 2 circular layers using superduo beads.
The Rulla beads are used as the vertical bracers.
How to make the Beaded Superduo Circles
Here I will be using 10 superduos per circular layer. So start stringing like this: each superduo is interspaced with a 11/0 seedbead.
R1: Thread through all the beads again to form a circle. (Thread through all beads twice or more for firmness and strength).
R2: Thread up to the empty hole of the Superduo. String a Rulla bead between each superduo bead.
The rulla beads will form the vertical brace between 2 Superduo circular layers.
Below is what it should now look like. Note that the rulla beads are standing vertically.
R3: Move up to next hole in rulla and we can create our 2nd circular layer using superduos. I am using a different coloured Superduo (blue) here so that it is clearer and easily differentiable.
Thread through with a Superduo between the Rulla beads. Thread through twice for firmness. (It will be a bit difficult due to the shape of the beads.) Face the threaded Superduos inwards as shown.
R4: thread up to next hole in the Superduo. Bead one 11/0 (yellow) seedbead inbetween the Superduo beads. Thread through again to tighten and finish off. Note that it might be a tight squeeze so go carefully.
And there you have it, done!
And here are some Beaded Circles Variations ..
.. because I got carried away!
And here you can see some of them being put to good use.
Then I kind of got even more carried away and just played with making beaded rings using brick stitch.
More Beading Around a Ring

More examples of using brick stitch around a ring to form beaded circles
S/N: The last one shows an interesting variation. I used a relatively broad glass ring as base. The brick stitch is done with [donut bead + 8/0 seed bead + 2 drop beads].
Hope you enjoyed that, and more importantly, you found it adaptable and useful for your own creations. Please feel free to give me some comments below and/or sign up for the free newsletter and be notified whenever there are new articles. Happy beading!
