Today I am writing up some how-to notes on the making of this collection of Beaded Crochet Bracelets or bangles. They are comfy to wear, easy to put on, and have an amazing call to elegance with the full loading of the ever glorious Swarovski crystals.
I call these “flat based” beaded crochet bangles because the inner side (against the skin) is made flat, without beads – to provide a comfortable easy feel to these bangles. I have used stretchy yarn (viscose) so that it is much easier to wear.
Sizing and General Technique: I have made all of these bangles for smallish size. Apart from some bangles having dangles and some not, the technique is basically the same.
Tip: For the crochet bracelets that are to have dangles, make the dangles beforehand and have them ready for threading together with the other beads, and before commencing your crochet.
Beaded Crochet Bangles: Basic Technique
For this size (small), it is worked over 44 stitches, in the round, over 5 rows.
The 5 rows are made in Single Crochet – with 1 plain row (no beads) and 4 beaded rows.
You will need 88x 4mm AND 88 x 3mm beads per bangle; alternating larger-smaller beads per row.
Tip for Bracelet with Dangles:
If you have dangles, it will replace alternating smaller beads for One row (either 2nd or 4th row). That will then mean 88x 4mm beads, 66x 3mm, and 22x Dangles.
- Thread the beads onto your working yarn.
Remember: thread in this sequence:- Row 4 >> Row 3 >> Row 2 >> Row 1 (use the draft drawing provided here) - Foundation: 44 chain stitches.
Join, making sure there is no twist in the length when joining to form a full circle. From hereon in, you will be working in rounds. - R1: plain (unbeaded) single crochet (sc) row
Tip: use knitting/crochet marker to tag beginning of each row. Also count your beads as you go to be sure that you are crocheting the correct number of beads per row. - R2-R4: crochet a bead every (sc) stitch
- When you finish off, leave enough yarn for sewing round the bracelet.
- Fold inner sides together and sew neatly and invisibily. You should end up with a pleasing flat inner surface and a rounded convex outer beaded surface.

Dearest BJ, thank you so much for your comments. Yes, White Alabaster is one of Swarovski’s lovely crystal colors. It has been around for a while and they actually make me think of the glistening white flakes of Christmas each time I see them. Thank you for coming by to look at my beaded crochet bracelets. God bless you too.
