Puff Puff! I think this will be my penultimate offering for tonight. And what an appropriate one it is too! “Little Miracles Moonlight” is an illustrated, step-by-step necklace tutorial that comes to us courtesy of Create Your Style with Swarovski Elements.
Necklace Tutorial: Little Miracles Moonlight necklace
This is an exciting tutorial and though it is recommended for Advanced skills level, I would not let it deter you one little bit. The instructions are clear and precise and they offer a great foundation of learning that will allow you to expand into various projects.
This project calls for a large number of the brilliantly cut Swarovski Bead 5000, in its tiniest size: 2mm. I love the Swarovski 5000 because it is available in so many colours and sizes. And best of all, it is a star sparkler as it has tons of brilliantly cut facets. However, in comparison to the ever popular Swarovski bicone bead (5301 and 5328), this bead is a quite a bit more expensive. As you wold expect for the number of precision cuts it has.
There is nothing to prevent you from substituting other beads in its stead. Start off by trying 2mm round beads. Or have a mix of crystals, metal beads, or even gemstones. It is now much easier to find gemstone beads in 2mm sizes – which is an ideal complement.
This necklace tutorial also uses a deliciously delectable Swarovski Fancy Stone, art. 4327 in 40x27mm sizing. It is delish!
However once again, you can find something similarly sized and/or shaped. I know nothing quite compares to Swarovski but have a go anyway. This tutorial illustrates a netting kind of bezelling or caging for stones. So it is a great learning tool. You can master this and then employ the learnt techniques to create caged, netted pendants and bails for just about any large gemstone or the like.
