You cannot be faulted for wondering why this is called an African Ladies necklace. The answer is simple. I saw some images with colourful African ladies. Their colours were the inspiration for this piece. There! Mystery solved 😀
Extremely Fun! That is what this necklace feels like!
It has amazingly bright and happy colours. Sparkles are to found in the Swarovski crystal beads that have been worked into it.
And of course the swinging, happily joyous beaded circles and ovals just add to the rhythm and colour of the piece.

Some DIY Notes on African Ladies necklace
This necklace was crocheted in 8/0 seedbeads with 1.5mm hook. There are 8 beads per row, ending with a 10mm diameter. There are 200 rows in total.
The graph is done in jBeads software.
I have worked Swarovski beads into the piece. I just cannot do without the happy sparkle!
The beaded circles and ovals are mainly worked in Brick Stitch. They are beaded over solid closed rings made from metal or glass.
The bail was created using Superduo beads. Done in Peyote Stitch.
